Looking to get your kids app reviewed here? The best way to contact us is via Twitter — you can find us there @theikidsblog
We won’t say no to a promo code if you’ve got one — but it’s not necessary to get a review either. Providing one also doesn’t guarantee that we can give you a rave review. But it is appreciated. Our bottom line is that we strongly believe we have a responsibility to parents (and kids!) to be honest about what we think of the apps featured here. If you are looking for a glowing endorsement of your app and are looking for some guidelines, here are some things we think are important:
- Ease of use (especially for the apps aimed at the littlest of kids)
- Strong interactivity that involves kids in the experience
- Fast loading (kids aren’t known for their patience…at least not our kids…)
- Novel concept (why is your app different from the hundreds of other kids apps out there?)
- Balance between educational focus and plain old fun
To be honest, we also rely a lot on what our kids seem to think of the apps – so if you aren’t testing your apps with real kids, you should.
Unfortunately, we can’t respond to every request for a review instantly — but we do our best, and this is a labor of love so just bear with us.

Hi, there is a new app available on the app store that is great for kids. Here is the details:
Introducing the first in a series of “skill” applications that can teach your child or student basic and advanced skills that they need to succeed. In Shape Skills Level 1, your child or student can learn and develop fine motor skills by following a dotted line and tracing various shapes. They will learn to identify the difference between basic shapes, be able to see those shapes within everyday objects and also have the option of drawing their own masterpieces in the Free Draw section of the application. The different sections of this application include: Tracing, What’s That?, The Right One, Odd One Out, The Same and Free Draw.
